A Message About Adult Ministry
Our hope is for the men of St Mary of the Woods, no matter the age, to step up and lead the way God intended in every area of life.

Walking with Purpose: A Women’s Bible Study Group.
“Have you ever considered that your day-to-day struggles are, at their core, timeless and universal? Though your challenges are deeply personal, they are also deeply human, and God has provided workable solutions for you through the teachings of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church. Walking with Purpose would like to help you enjoy a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ, nurtured through personal Bible study and small group discussions created just for women.” (from the Walking with Purpose website)
If you are interested in learning more about Walking with Purpose, please contact Susan Driskill at (270) 929-6522 or check out thier website www.walkingwithpurpose.com. We do not have any studies planned at the moment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More details to come after gatheings can resume!
Young Adult Ministry
We all long to be known, to be supported, to have an identity. Having an authentic community requires those who have encountered Jesus to drop their nets and eagerly accept His invitation to follow Him. The Young Adults at St Mary of the Woods desire to take this next step and begin creating spaces for intentional communities to form in order for us to grow deeper in our faith and personal relationships. We are excited to partner with ID 9:16 (www.id916.com) this year to help us accomplish that goal. ID 9:16’s mission is to form Young Adult’s into intentional disciples of Jesus by giving them the tools they need to build, maintain and grow a young adult community. The goal is NOT to separate Young Adults in the parish, but to foster an environment of growth and formation that will empower them to be become more active in their parish community.
To accomplish this goal we will begin having monthly “Discipleship Nights” where we gather for a meal and a message on what it means to be a disciple. Our first Discipleship Night will be on May 20 @ the Parish Hall from 5:30-7:30 PM. We will begin with dinner then listen to a speaker via live-stream through the ID 9:16 website. Afterwards the community will engage in table discussions. A list will soon be available for all Discipleship Nights for the Spring/Summer time-frame.
We will also begin forming “Discipleship Groups” which will be small group faith communities who aim to gather twice a month to share life together. This will be a time to grow personally and share your story, struggles and triumphs with other young adults. Each group will also engage a video series on Discipleship to help them begin conversations about what it means to follow Jesus, how to live a life of Discipleship and all the struggles and questions these topics give rise to. These groups are open to all Young Adults–no matter where you are at in your faith.
If you would be interested in joining a Discipleship Group, please contact Jessy Bennett for more information via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: 270-233-4196.
